Youth Emotional Support is delighted to introduce the Walt and Suzanne Steiner Sweet Pea Fund.
This fund has been developed to provide support for individuals in need of mental health counseling who are uninsured, underinsured, or financially unable to afford care. Access to quality mental health services should not be a privilege—it is a necessity. We believe that emotional wellness is foundational to a person’s overall health, relationships, academic performance, and future success. Yet, for many in our community, especially those facing financial hardship, getting the help they need can be out of reach.
The Sweet Pea Fund seeks to bridge that gap by supporting counseling services for those who would otherwise go without. A licensed therapist may apply for the fund on behalf of a client for up to 8 sessions, with reimbursement provided at a rate of up to $100.00 per session and $140.00 for the intake session. Therapists cannot charge the client for these sessions, and completion of the application does not guarantee approval.
Eligibility is limited to clients under the age of 30 residing in Volusia County. We are committed to reducing the barriers to mental health care and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive compassionate, professional support during life’s most challenging times.
